Terrible value. Pool costs £10 to use. Paint peeling off everywhere. Steam room mouldy. Bedroom didn’t have working aircon. Single G&T £8:50 - served without a slice of lemon. Room was £100 a night. What the hell is this place.

Hotel was advertised with air conditioning but ours was not working. It was the hottest day of the year resulting in no sleep. After complaining we were told we would get a refund. After sending numerous emails we still didn't get a refund. I paid £327 for one night no breakfast and no sleep. Staff lied to you and customer service is shocking.

We had a panoramic room on the 7th floor. Lovely light aspect, very comfortable bed and lovely bathroom with shower and separate bath. Our room hadn’t been made up properly, only one mug but another one was delivered promptly upon request. Bit disappointed to learn that use of the pool/hot tub wax £10/guest per visit. Breakfast was extra at £12 if booked the night before or £16.50 if you decide in the morning. A lovely spread with plenty of choice, worth booking in advance for. We visited Barry Island and had a fantastic swim. Gorgeous beach, great cafes and holiday shops. Easy and cheap parking.

We stayed here as part of a wowcher deal, which included breakfast and late checkout. It was super easy to book online and worth every penny. We visited 2/7/25 - 4/7/25 which was a notably busy time as there were several high profile bands playing on various nights that week. The hotel was spacious and relatively quiet, the staff friendly and helped out in any way they could. It was a very hot week and each room had an extra portable air con unit and fan in. I heard some complaining about the air con being broken, I don't think ours was it just wasn't the most powerful and having the extra fan already they was fab. The rooms were huge! Queen bed, separate area with sofa, bath and separate shower, floor to ceiling glass windows with curtains. Everything was beautiful, and the bed was very comfy. Room service was great, the food lovely. Only thing I'd say is different at this hotel than others is that they request payment on delivering your room service, rather than adding to your room bill. This may only be wowcher bookings though, can't be sure. The only issue we had was at breakfast each morning the lady at the entrance didn't have our room down for breakfast and had to call down and check. It only took a minute to clear up each time so no big problem. The food was nice, good selection and amounts available. Oh and the fridge in our room didn't work. I imagine if I had raised it they would have had a solution but I wasn't fussed. Didn't use the pool or spa as I wasn't keen on paying extra for the pool access and I probably would have booked s spa treatment if there was an option to book online with the hotels advertised 20% off for guests of the hotel. Parking is pricey but its secure, underground and in a city so wouldn't expect much else. I would say though that you should consider a possible back up place to park as there are only a small number of spaces for such a large hotel. Some said 3 of the 4 lifts were broken around the time we stayed but we used 3 of the 4 without issue. Checkout was easy as there's just a box to put your room key in before you leave. It really was a lovely stay and I could have stayed much longer.

The biggest disappointment was saying it’s a spa hotel. I booked a massage which was excellent but the spa facilities leave a lot to be desired. I arrived early evening and the pool was full of very small children screaming and screeching that is not a spa. The was also then a toddler swim class far enough in the local pool but you can’t say it’s a spa. He water foundation was broken and it was a very hot day and only 1 shower worked. There was also no toilet roll in the toilets which I reported and still wasn’t sorted over an hour later when I came back from my massage. In short it’s a small hotel pool used by locals for kids swimming.

Room was freshly decorated, new bathroom etc. really lovely let down by lack of air con in the room, poor reception staff and oyo rooms who are refusing to offer any kind of refund on a £289 room that had no air con! Would not recommend

We were very dubious about staying here after reading the recent reviews about no air con as we were staying on one of the hottest days of the year! When we arrived we checked in and was dealt with by a lovely friendly gentleman. We went to our rooms and much to our delight it was extremely spacious, clean and air con working perfectly. I'm not sure if we were lucky and had a room with working air con or if it is now up and running! Such a comfortable stay and whilst we were there we booked the hotel again for our next visit to Cardiff in December. The bar is such a lovely area for a relaxing chilled out drink. Can't wait to come back!

The room was so hot I couldn't stay in it. It was a hot day, and when I arrived the curtains were closed, and a small fan type device was running. It was so hot that it felt like there was a fan heater running. I was sweating just standing in the room. With no way to increase ventilation I asked to move rooms. There were no other rooms. I quickly booked the premier inn around the corner and went there instead. I lost out financially but I could actually sleep. Avoid this hotel in hot weather.

DO NOT USE THE CAR PARK- there is clearly an issue with water leaking in which is extremely corrosive and has damaged my glass and paintwork. There are some buckets and signs but I was parked in a normal bay and was devastated to see the damage. Can’t get an answer to speak to the hotel about a claim. .
